Meet the Luxembourg City Hub
Carolina is passionate about education and social causes. She is one of the co-founders and member of the non-governmental organisation AME - Minas Action for Education - which educates vulnerable groups and promotes informed and responsible citizenship in Brazil and is the Country Chair of Global Dignity in Luxembourg.
Carolina currently serves as the Associate Company Secretary at Arcelor Mittal, the world’s largest steel producer, in Luxembourg and holds an MBA and a Master in Tax Law degrees.
Half Italian, half Filipino, after her studies in London and some Southeast Asian travelling, Giulia moved back to Luxembourg where she currently works at Deloitte.
Giulia is interested in politics, economics and international relations, in particular security and financial crime. She's passionate about the arts, travelling, and good food. Causes she cares about include the environment and social services, with a particular attention for the social issue of homelessness.
Viktor works as a consultant in the Transaction Advisory Services at EY. He is passionate about improving education through mentorship and developing mentoring program for talented students in Luxembourg. Viktor has previously worked at the strategy department at Telefónica in Bratislava and Belgian Embassy in London.
As a graduate student of ICHEC Brussels Management School, he guided a group of university students in a humanitarian project in Burkina Faso. Viktor is conversational in four European languages.
Gilberto is tax adviser at the Commerce & Industry department of KPMG Luxembourg.
He is co-founder and legal consultant of Diálogos, a Mexican NGO whose objective is to enhance civic culture among young citizens of Mexico and serve as a platform that enables them to get involved in the design and implementation of public policy in the matter of youth.
Gilberto holds an LL.M. degree from Maastricht University and currently pursues an M.Sc. at the University of Luxembourg.
Lorenzo is passionate about education, social entrepreneurship and human rights.He’s a member of the Board of Cuora Consulting, a pro-bono consulting firm whose mission is to support the strategy of NGO and social start-ups leveraging on the skills of extremely high-caliber students. The organization has a community of over 100 students and alumni, two hubs and deliver more than 10 projects a year.
After studies in Milan, Paris and Cologne, he moved to Luxembourg, where he now works in Strategy for the Ferrero group.
Diana works as an independent Film Director. She holds a BA in English & Drama from Royal Holloway as well as two postgraduate degrees, one in Politics & Literature from Queen Mary and one in Filmmaking from the London Film School. She is currently involved in developing a project that raises awareness about our ‘food consciousness’, sustainability and how our excessive and ill-considered food consumption affects our planet.
Khulan was born and raised in Mongolian nomadic family. Travelling around 20 countries in the world, she has shaped herself as a global citizen.
She has studied executive education program in finance at New York Stern Business School and Master’s degree at Luxembourg school of Finance. Currently, she is working in MDO Management company as a market risk analyst.
Her main causes are youth education, cultural integrity and gender inequality.
Adrian is a former professional tennis player who believes in the power of sports as a driver of social and economic cohesion. He currently works at the European Investment Bank, where he supports financing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Central and South Eastern Europe.
He holds bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Government form the College of William and Mary in Virginia and a MA in International Political Economy form King’s College London. His hobbies include padel, triathlon, philosophy, and behavioral economics.
Marzio Flavio Schena
Marzio is Fund Manager at Woodpecker Capital, a UCITS investment firm.
Since early 2017, he is active as an entrepreneur, and he is currently in the process of launching his own enterprise.
He holds an MSc Finance from Bocconi University. He also studied at UCLA (US) and INCAE Business School (CR).
While studying at Bocconi, he worked with several agencies in event management in Milan. Throughout the years, he was a steward, security guard, and, eventually, team leader for hundreds of local events.
Patrick’s field of interest lies in the political education and participation of citizens, with a special focus for young people, which led him to co-found a youth NGO in 2013.
After completing his degree in Philosophy at the University of Luxembourg, Patrick started freelancing as a facilitator and trainer for NGO management and development.
Letizia is a policy officer at the European Commission and works in finance aimed at delivering public good. She is a proud Italian and European and has studied Economics in Bocconi University and Political Science in Sciences Po Paris. She is passionate about education, environment, equality and wishes that one day the European sentiment could be as strong as the national one. On the side, she loves singing and reading
Originally Italian, I have lived in other 8 countries including Italy, the UK, Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya. I currently work for Amazon in Luxembourg, where I lead the "Amazon Renewed" business for Europe and Australia.
I am also on the Board of Advisors of "JayNii", a Ghana-based social enterprise that produces fashion products and accessories to fund the primary school education of disadvantaged children in Accra. As of 2019, we are supporting over 65 children from the ages of 6-17. My main interests are in the fields of (social) entrepreneurship, Effective Altruism, and business management
I just moved to Luxembourg in July, from Los Angeles. My dad is from Luxembourg and my mom is Korean, but I grew up and went to school in the states. In New York I studied Comparative Literature and French, which led me to a communications job in Luxembourg at ALFI (Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry).
On my time off I like to go to yoga, go hiking, and do lots of travelling.
My goal at the moment is to learn Korean and German. I love languages and I think it’s a great way to stay connected with your culture.
Matilde is half Indian half Luxembourger, born and raised in Portugal. Passioned about social entrepreneurship, business innovation and sustainability, she loves to travel, volunteering, continue to learn, create impact, discovering new things, problem solving and thinking out of the box.
Holding a bachelor's degree in Economics from IBS Lisbon, she is currently doing her Masters at the University of Luxembourg.
Her past experiences include volunteering in India and being the #RiseUpWithClaudie Ambassador in partnership with UNESCO
Originally from Germany, Mara studied Psychology in Luxembourg and the Netherlands and is
currently completing her Master’s degree in Management and Coaching at the University of
Mara is also the co- founder of GoldenMe, an organization to provide a community
for people aged 50+ to fight loneliness in ongoing age and connect generations by educating seniors about digitalization.
Mara is interested in politics, gender equality, education and social entrepreneurship. She is passionate about people, their stories
and what drives them. That is why she joined the TEDx University of Luxembourg team as host and organizer.
